Unathi Talita Ngesi

Jackie Cameron
It’s heartwarming when a young learner has a clear vision of the future. Eighteen-year-old Unathi Talita Ngesi, is such a person. All the way from Cape Town she ‘discovered’ our School of Food and Wine here in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands and has her heart and mind set on becoming a chef.

Unathi’s parents, however, are two of the many who have suffered the effects of the Covid-19 lockdown and they cannot afford the school’s fees. Unathi’s contagious enthusiasm and her desire to succeed in the hospitality industry, compels me to believe that she has the potential to create a bright and prosperous future. Confident that she will realise her dream, Unathi has already paid a deposit to secure a place for next year’s intake. By year-end she is hoping to raise the amount required – please read her light-hearted, yet sincere, story below...

“Help me reach my dream of Culinary School”

“I am Unathi Talita Ngesi, 18 years of age and currently doing grade 12 at Fish Hoek High School. I am writing in hopes of finding sponsors for my Tertiary Education. I am eager to pursue a career in the hospitality industry as a Chef. As I embark on my final year at Fish Hoek High School I want to complete it knowing that I have secured a sponsor to assist me with funding. I have enrolled at Chef Jackie Cameron's School Of Food and Wine in KZN. It is a private tertiary institution. I would like to do the Advanced Diploma course which is a 3-year course.”
