Laurie Smorthwaite has been acknowledged as one of the top achieving students world wide in the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) diploma class of 2015. She is the lead educator for all the WSET courses at the KZN School of Wine and is the winemaker at Abingdon Wine estate, giving the students the added advantage of spending time behind the scenes in both the vineyard and cellar.
